More WaMu to Chase transition problems
Frances was a WaMu customer, is now a Chase customer, and is told by Chase that she will be charged to use any ATM but the ones that were formely WaMu. (story) Any one else having this problem?

I have also fell victim to the Plus Gold Benefit Package (scam), which I assumed included free money orders! When my husband went to the bank to get the money orders this weekend and they told him they are not free any more, but are now $5 , I checked and I found out I am paying for my Free Checking account to some company (Affinion Benefit) that does not have a clue what is included in my Plus Gold Benefit!
They have been charging me since, they merged and took over Wamu…When I was with Wamu the charge was called a monthly service charge, which was credited every month since I had direct deposit…did they forget CREDITING part! OMG I am so upset, I had to talk to 7 CSR before finding out the reason for the charge. Now I am waiting for a banker to get back to me about crediting my account. …I will keep you updated as I am going to peruse this until the end!

ME TOO! this is what they say my Gold account $7 fee is about:
The fee in the amount of $7.00 dated March 14, 2011 is for
your Plus Package program in your account. This account
feature was applied to your account prior to Chase
conversion (from WaMu). This Plus Package program allows
you to have non- financial benefits which include the
following:
– Accidental death insurance ($10,000.00)
– Card protection service
– $5 discount on Deluxe personal check orders (one box per
order)
– Hotel / travel discounts
– Prescription drug program
– Shopping discounts
– Unlimited no fee cashier?s checks, money orders and
travelers cheques and fee discount on travelers cheques
for two
– Vision plan
WHAT? I NEVER HAD THAT!
I am burning mad as well.

These benefits are worthless. Money orders are 60 cents at Wal-Mart. Online bill pay actually generates free paper checks to payees who don’t take electronic payments.
Terminate the Plus package and stop the fee. Better yet, remove Chase from your life. Or Chase will remove more money from your wallet.

I have also been charged a $6.00 recurring fee to my Chase “FREE” checking account. It is billed as “Monthly Package – Plus Benefits”. I never requested this package, nor do I have a clue as to what it consists of! Now that Chase has implemented the new $10.00 monthly service fee – I am paying $16.00 per month for my checking acct. I contacted Chase regarding this issue and have requested a refund of the $6.00 fee, from Sept 2009 to May 2011. I am not optimistic that I will receive any cooperation from Chase.

I was also shocked to see the doublle charge, especially since the vision plan no longer works. I’m gonna cancel it.

How do I get rid of this “MONTHLY PACKAGE FEE – PLUS GOLD BENEFITS” thing. I have been charged monthly for this stuff that does no good to me.
Does anyone know how to cancel this charges.

Best way to get rid of the “Gold Benefits” fee and any other future Chase fees: close your account and move everything to a credit union.

I can’t find anywhere what the Plus Package program benefits are except for above, my question is, did the Plus Package program ever cover NSF or have overdraft protection? I can’t find a FULL description of the package anywhere. thanks
